    Grab a seat at the bar or on our patio surrounded by our lush gardens and take advantage of our popular cocktail program, “5 for 5 at 5.” From 5 until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, guests can select from a list of five wines and five specialty cocktails created by our mixologist, all costing only $5. Wines will vary and include a choice of sparkling, two white wines and two red wines. In addition, guests are invited to stay and dine with us and enjoy our seasonal menu.

  • Charleston Wine + Food Festival

    March 2, 2016 - March 6, 2016

    Executive Chef Marc Collins and Circa 1886 will take center stage during the eleventh annual Wine + Food Festival, a five-day celebration of food, wine and all things Charleston. Chef Collins, who co-founded the festival in 2006, will be part of Cheers to Charleston’s Chefs Opening Night Party on Wednesday, March 2. On Friday, Collins will create an inspired menu using truffles throughout each delicate course.  From lobster and Carolina gold rice to truffle and popcorn for dessert, enjoy a taste of truffles in every bite. Luxurious Ruinart Champagne will pair beautifully for this stunning dinner.   • 11th Annual Historic Charleston Foundation Wine Tastings

    March 22, 2016 and April 19, 2016 / 5:30pm

    During the Historic Charleston Foundation’s popular Festival of Houses and Gardens, guests can tour many of the city’s historic private homes and gardens. Circa 1886 will host two wine and hors d’oeuvres tastings during the tours to benefit the organization.     A celebration of the South’s favorite food groups – Bourbon and Bacon. Join chef Marc Collins for an informal and fun evening. The dinner kicks off with a reception on the patio followed by a four course dinner inspired by bourbon cocktail recipes.   • Spoleto Festival USA Pre-and Post-Theater Dinners

    May 27th - June 11th / 5pm - 10pm

    Spoleto Festival USA is one of the most recognized and acclaimed art festivals in the world, drawing thousands of visitors to Charleston each spring. The festival supports new and innovative works while enhancing public appreciation of the arts – from dance and music to theater and jazz. To accommodate attendees, Circa 1886 open on Sunday, May 29 for dinner and will serve dinner a half-hour earlier at 5 p.m. and close a half hour later throughout the Festival.

  • Craft Beer Dinner

    Guests are invited to join Chef Marc Collins at Circa 1886 for a fun and informal four-course Craft Beer Dinner. The menu throughout the evening will be paired with a selection of local beers paired with Collins’ Southern fare. The evening will start with live music and a reception on the patio before guests journey through Charleston’s craft beer and inventive cuisine. Cost is $60 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

    Join the Wentworth Mansion and Circa 1886 for an Independence Day celebration from 6-7 p.m. with music, lawn games, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. At 7 p.m. the festivities will move inside with libations and a delicious 3-course dinner. After dark, guests head to the cupola with a glass of champagne to watch Charleston’s fireworks. The dinner is $75 per person, price excludes tax, gratuity and additional beverages. Reservations required.

    A much-beloved holiday tradition is back this November andDecember. For the 31st year in a row, Circa 1886 restaurant and Charming Inns will play host to the “Charleston Holiday Progressive Dinner,” a festive evening where diners journey by carriage to three different locations. Guests are invited to start the evening with hors d’oeuvres at Historic Kings Courtyard Inn at 198 King Street, travel to Circa 1886 restaurant at 149 Wentworth Street for a three-course dinner, and wind down at Historic John Rutledge House Inn at 116 Broad Street for coffee and dessert. Hors d’oeuvres start at 5:30 p.m. and the evening wraps up at 8:30 p.m. A carriage will transport guests from one location to the next. The cost is $100.00 per person, excluding beverages.

    Circa 1886 travels back in time this holiday season to retell a classic Christmas story. At the 15th annual Dickens Dinner, storyteller Tim Lowry will take guests to Victorian England for a lively retelling of English novelist Charles Dickens’ beloved novella, “A Christmas Carol.” The performance is accompanied by a four-course dinner inspired by the novel, prepared by Chef Marc Collins. Cost is $85.00 per person plus gratuity, tax, and beverages.
